Holiday Poems

I enjoyed hearing this again - reminded me of our holidays in the back garden when I was a nipper.Holidays are opportunities for friends and relatives to get together and celebrate life. Our lives have become so hectic and stressful that we spend way too little time with the people we love
(A Hood Christmas)
twas the night before christmas and all through the hood
no one was set tripping so it was all good
the stockings were hung on the wall with some nails
dads back on heroin cause mom hit the trails
the kids were asleep all warm in their beds
with visions of murder invading their heads
the dogs kept on barking because of the noise
the kids were all hoping it was st. nick with toys
they looked out the window and what did they see
the neighborhood crackhead stealing their tv
they ran to the phone to call up the laws
while dad was chasing him down in his draws
the cops took too long and dad was to slow
the thief got away and dad got more blow
the kids have been good and nice all year long
but santa wasn't coming what did they do wrong
that christmas was something but it was not merry
cause santa was sleighjacked somewhere on east berry
as you can tell this is all messed up right
merry christmas to all and to all a hood night

(Child Holiday Poem)
My mom is cooking holiday treats;
My dad is spending money;
They think they've hidden all the gifts;
It's really pretty funny.
Now Mom and Dad are whispering;
They imagine I don't hear.
I'm really all excited;
It's a happy time of year.
I've made my holiday gift list;
Whatever I get, I'll be glad
To be a part of my family,
And the best holiday I've had!

Here's more holiday poems, in a holiday rhyme, to send to people you care about.
(Holiday Wishes)
We wish for you a holiday
That's better than your dreams,
Filled with peace, good will and hope
And firelight that gleams,
Overflowing with holiday spirit
Good food and holiday laughter;
And when it's done, We hope that you
Live happily ever after!

(Happy Holidays)
It’s the end of the year, and we’re thinking of you;
We’re searching for words, for the perfect phrase,
To let you know that you’re special to us,
And to wish you and yours Happy Holidays!

(Christmas Now And Then)

Well it is December and Christmas is almost here
Another happy Christmas for family and good cheer
There will be tables loaded with turkeys hams and sweets
We know there will be more than we could ever eat

There will be a big tree shining so bright
With beautiful decorations and pretty shiny lights
Under that tree there will be present galore
So many you would wonder how there could be anything left in the store

Christmas now is really so much fun
But gosh there is just too much for everyone
My thoughts go back to a cold Christmas
long ago
To a family not blessed with riches and gold

Our little tree was kind of skimpy, with some ribbons and a few shiny balls
But to us it stood magnificent, the greatest of them all
Under that tree was a present for Raye, a present for Sister and a present for me
And we could hardly wait as we would open them with glee

There was not a lot of fancy food on that table, times were kind of tough
But we were all happy and for us it was enough
We were so thankful as we thanked the Lord above
We knew what we had was paid for with Daddys' hard work and Mamas love

I'm thankful that we now have so much and our blessings are many
And it is good to live in this great land of plenty
But I would gladly give every material thing that I own
To have one more Christmas with Mama and Daddy and my two sisters at home
