(The Bridge Builder)

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man,"said a fellow pilgrim, near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide -
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth, whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm, that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

(Too Many Chickens)

My chickens all had chicks
and I've got more than I can keep.
Perhaps you'd like to purchase one?
They're cheap, cheap, cheep!

(Young Poets)

You speak for the lakes, the trees and the birds
You say what they'd say if they had the words.

Make PEACE and be proud, choose well every choice
Speak HOPE and speak loud, you are Nature's voice.

Speak with respect now, for jungles and streams
Speak for all wildlife and dream giant dreams

Speak with great courage, speak up and speak out
Write with a whisper or write with a shout.

Stand up young poets for clean air and river
Free verse or lyric; your message delivers.

Truth for the future citizens of earth
Speak of your freedom your friends and self worth.

Speak for tomorrow and though you're still young
Speak for the Forest, your pen is her tongue.

The world waits to hear your songs still unsung
Words posses power, you can write the wrongs

Teach us and lead us with Poems and with songs
Speak now for nature, for trees and for birds.

Defenders of Earth choose careful your words!

(I'm In Love With You)

It’s the way you say I love you and the way you hold my hand
There’s just so much about you.. I completely understand
It’s the twinkle in your eye that I only see when you look at me..
It’s the warmness of your hands is sends a shock straight to my feet.
Its how you always amaze me, you surprise me all day long....
This I know is true...
Baby, I'm in love with you!

(Valentines Day)

Today is Valentines Day
A day to show a love one you care
But how can you hold them kiss them console them
When no one is even there

Today is a day of us together
And not a second to be left apart
But knowing today won't bring those things
It continues to break my heart

I know I'm supposed to be happy
And I really look the part
But how can I smile
And pretend that I'm happy
When a piece is missing from my heart

Today won't change the crying
Today won't change pain
Today won't change the fact
That heartache is now a part of my name

Today for me is lonely
Today for me is untrue
Today for me is wishing
That once again I still had you

But wishes are like fairy tales
They rarely do come true
So today is a day of loneliness
And me being sad and blue

Today for you is laughing
Because to you my love is a game
So while your happy spending time with friends
I'm left to drown in pain

Today is not a day anymore
Its a waste of useless time
Today for me is
Loneliness, heartache, crying, praying
That soon again you'd be mine

(Valentine Gift)
On Valentine’s Day,
I’m thinking about
the special ways
you have made my life better,
the little things,
the not-so-little things...
your kindness,
the way you always listen
and pay attention to me.
You make my world
brighter and richer.
You’re a gift to me,
and I thank you
for being you.
